- Zenker's Diverticulum of the Esophagus
- SYMPTOMS. After the first few bites of food it becomes difficult to swallow.
- There may be a gurgling noise during drinking and eating and food may be
- regurgitated upon bending or lying down.
- CAUSES. The diverticulum is an outpouching of the esophagus lining. It
- sometimes fills with food, enlarges and causes difficulty in swallowing.
- TREATMENT. Surgery may be required for severe difficulty.
